Biography

Laura Pellegrinelli was born in Lugano, Switzerland in 06.09.1974.

The italian roots brought her always moved between the Ticino (Switzerland) and Emilia Romagna (Italy).

After regular school she achieve a secretary Diplome. But after various office experiences of office she begins an apprenticeship in the field of the graphic/design arts and in 1999 she graduates as poligraphic/graphic composer.

She was employed in a typography and other press offices.

When she was 26 took the decision to devote herself to the art and she attempted the Accademy of Belle Arti di Brera, Milan. In the meantime she keeps working as magasine’s composer and graphic free-lance. She achieves the painting Certificate (Diplom) introducing a thesis about United States minimalism in 2004.

In these experience painting years she deeped other tecniques like incision but above all photography which she loves best. It like also Illustration and History of Art. These different notions allow she to manage various aspects of an image.

In this period, besides keeping on painting, born in Laura the need to share the acquired knowledges.

After various stage in kindergartens as artistic animator, elementary schools and teacher in Visual Arts in the middle schools and Colleges, she develope a own didactic method about art and the artistic education.

The Museum Villa of the Cedars proposes her to direct the didactic workshops to take care of the school eduation.

It is this the opportunity to put all the knowledges into practice, also those tied up in the theater and dance, that she add has assimilated during the years.

In this period another great passion was born too: always tied up to the world of the children: the tales narration and fables and the same time: illustration and written.

She attempted  different improvement courses by the well-knowed Stephan Zavrel Illustration School to Sarmede (TV-Italy). She collaborates with the Museé en herbe in Bellinzona, and the Cantonal Museum and Art Museum in Lugano.

After that she attempted a Master of Book Industry and Illustration at the University of Macerata (Italy).

She wrote and illustrated stories, also experimenting them in the animation, proposing tied up performance to the world of the theatre-art.

In 2010 she won a Award (Stipendium) by the Cité Internationale of Art in Paris. She worked for 6 months about a pictorial and photographic project being inspired by the Parisian environment.

In april 2011 she worked for the Mamco Museum in Geneve (Switzerland).

During the sommer 2011 she travel through the USA developing a photography project bonded to the Jack Kerouac litterature. She lived for 4 weeks in Denver and other 4 weeks in San Francisco.
